All puppies purchased through Cordial Toy Puppies come with a one-year health guarantee.
You must take your new puppy to a licensed veterinarian for a check-up within ten days of purchase. If, within ten days of purchase, the veterinarian determines that your puppy is clinically ill or has died from an injury or illness presumably contracted on or before the date of sale and delivery, you have the following options:
- Return the puppy and receive a full refund.
- Return the puppy and receive an equivalent replacement puppy.
- Keep the puppy and receive reimbursement for reasonable veterinary expenses, up to a maximum of the purchase price.
- These options do not apply if the seller, who provided a veterinary health certificate, discloses in writing at the time of sale the health issue that the buyer later wishes to return the puppy for.
- If a licensed veterinarian determines within 30 days of purchase that your puppy has a congenital or hereditary defect that affects its health, or that your puppy has died from a congenital or hereditary defect, you have the same rights as described above.
You must inform us of the examining veterinarian’s name, address, and telephone number within two days of receiving their certificate of your puppy’s condition. Otherwise, your rights will be forfeited. Laws regarding the sale of puppies vary by state. Please familiarize yourself with the laws of the state in which you purchase your puppy.
In USA and Canada, each state has its own health guarantee policy for puppies. In states without a mandatory health guarantee, we are required to guarantee the puppy’s health for at least 30 days. If a state policy provides for a guarantee of more than 30 days, that policy takes precedence.
We offer extended guarantees for our puppies. It is not permissible for a breeder to offer a health guarantee that does not at least comply with state laws. For a more detailed description of the extended genetic health guarantees, please contact us.
Extended Genetic Health Guarantees (if offered)
- An additional guarantee specifically covering all diseases whose genetic origin has been proven through proper veterinary examination and testing.
- These guarantees do not cover routine veterinary costs incurred during the puppy’s general care.
- Proper documentation must be provided to the breeder before any compensation will be paid.
- This guarantee does not cover costs related to injuries caused by owner negligence or accidents.
